First Student Interview

Today Jess and I will be interviewing our first student. We are super excited! It has been a long road already, getting ready for students, and there is much still to do. It is amazingly encouraging to be starting this process of interviewing students!

In other news, we have been in meetings all week getting ready for January where we will be launching HLI to our community. Having volunteer interest meetings, setting up those teams for host homes, mentors, teachers, intercessory teams, etc. We are very much looking forward to this next couple of crazy months!

The momentum is growing!

Soon I’ll post about our up coming speaking engagements with young adults and churches. Just keep this in mind, “As followers of Jesus we are called to be world changers, and we do that by living Heroic lives.”

Websites, videos and brochures oh my!

Jess and I as well as the rest of the HLI sites and their crews are hard at work making videos for the website. We updated some things and edited the tabs. Some of it is still under construction but soon those videos and information will also be up.

Jess is in the process of raising money to go to Mexico, which is where the HLI missions trip will be. She is going down there to build some relationship and do some scouting for next year when her and I will bring down Duluth HLI 2013-2014 students. She is going out there in January.

Also we are creating our job descriptions for host homes, mentors, staff and the different tracks!

We are having tons of fun getting ready for our pioneer year. Our community is super stoked to have students come to this great city and get filled up to give it away wherever God takes them!

Check out this recent article by the HLI Director at Pathway Vineyard in Maine. This is what we are so stoked about:
